This was Eagles first appearance in a Cup competition, the opposition play in a higher division, with this in mind we knew this was going to be a tough game. From the start the eagles stepped up by testing the goal keeper in the early parts of the game. it was a very tight first half with chances created by both teams. Towards the end of the first half Ferndale were awarded a penalty, the eagles keeper made a fantastic save, Ferndale scored on the deflected rebound. The eagles players kept their heads up and continued to press for an equaliser, the individual runs, tackling, passing and general movement of the ball was outstanding. Ferndale scored their second and final goal from a good counter attack which made the final score 2-0 to Ferndale.
The eagles have defiantly turned the corner as a team and individuals, coaching staff and parents were all very proud of their outstanding performance.
