Green Lane - We're Coming Home

Green Lane - We're Coming Home

Gary Wootton21 Jan 2020 - 20:14

Green Lane planned to re-open on May 4th. Training for Bishops Cannings teams to start on the 5th May.

The end is near. We have been given confirmation from Wilts FA that Green Lane is planning to be open for us to return on the 4th May 2020. This has been a massive project for Wilts FA with the majority of the work having been carried out during the horrendous autumn weather.
This date gives us as a club, a date to plan to, a date we can look forward to and a date where after a whole season playing matches and training at different venues we can return home to Green Lane.
As you can see from the images taken by Neil Willis who has kindly given us permission to use them, it looks impressive. I can imagine that every child that see’s it can’t wait to get there boots on and start playing football on it.
It gives us as a club a massive boost, no more cancelled games due to waterlogged pitches, no more cancelled training sessions due to frost and a perfect surface to improve all the children’s skills.
On top of that the Wilts FA base includes changing rooms, a kitchen where hopefully teas and coffees will be sold and working toilets. I know these have been available at many grounds where our children have played for years, however for those that have been around for several years playing at Green Lane, these things will feel luxurious. Not only that but the car park is being re-laid so we don’t have to wade through the many lakes that we have been used to.
It is the intention for the majority of our sides to return to Tuesdays nights however due to our size some of our teams may have to train on different nights and different times. These days and times are to be worked out with our coaches and committee members. The simple issue is we can’t fit everyone on it in one night.
Obviously there will be a lot more details we are going to share with you as soon as we know them, however we can’t help our excitement and share this fantastic news and images with you all.

Thank you for your patience, and thank you for your continued support. We can only see
the club growing from strength to strength providing football for all our children and many more that would like the opportunity to benefit not only in the new facilities but with our fully trained coaching staff. Massive investment has been made, and still ongoing in the clubs coaches ensuring that every side has at least 1 FA level 1 coaching badge with all coaches having carried out the FA’s Safeguard course and Emergency First Aid course. If you are a parent and want to join our coaching set-up where training and support by the whole club is guaranteed, please get in contact. BCYFCSecretary@Outlook.com
It won’t be long till we are finally back home, back home to Green Lane, the home of Bishops Cannings Youth Football Club.
