What a whirlwind season so far…!!

As we move into the final part of the playing season we can reflect on another season of growth in numbers. As a club we are providing good quality coaching and match days to more than 250 budding young footballers from the local community each week!

There are exciting times ahead!!

Our Footy Tots scheme has proven incredibly popular and is currently introducing over 20 U5s to the beautiful game each Monday night. Hopefully our newly launched Mini Cats (girls only football) will be just as successful.

We have had at least one team in a cup final and several players now representing the county and attending development centres for Southampton FC, Reading FC and beyond.

The development of our home at Green Lane has also made the local news. This is massive for the club and the local community generally and sees Wiltshire FA bringing their base to Devizes along with the financial investment to build a 4G football pitch the likes of Stanley Park and Beversbrook. As the current incumbents at Green Lane and the largest club in numbers we are a Key Partner Club in this project and are dealing closely with Devizes Town Council and Wiltshire FA in ensuring its success.

Now to the point!

The fantastic growth on the front line of the club needs to be repeated behind the scenes. As a small committee a lot of effort and time is currently taken to ensure the quality of football and facilities is delivered by a small amount of people.

Following in the footsteps of the recruitment of players we now need to concentrate on increasing the ranks of behind the scenes volunteers, for this we need you all to come forward!!

We have identified the following roles as requiring filling asap as we begin to plan for next season, there is lots to do so we urge you to consider throwing your hats in the ring;

  • Charter Standard Officer
  • Club Development Officer
  • Foundation Section Officer
  • Youth Section Officer
  • Football Development Officer
  • Fundraising & Social Club Manager
  • Assistant Welfare Officer
  • General Volunteers on matchdays and training nights

Further details available at

We also have a current filled position to backfill with the impending loss of our Club Secretary, Mark, due to increased work commitments. Mark has done a great job and we are sorry to lose him but urge someone to come forward and assist in this important role in the club.

Please, please come forward and discuss how you can help by contacting myself; Mikey Harford – Chairman – 07841665230 or email

Thank you all and look forward to hearing from you.
